About Mrs. Natalie Light
Welcome to the 2018-19 school year! My name is Mrs. Natalie Light, and I am thrilled to be a Kindergarten Teacher at Ridge Early Childhood Center.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Bradley University in 1992. I spent the first eight years of my career teaching 3rd Grade and Pre-Kindergarten in Joliet. During that time I earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from National Louis University. I was fortunate enough to spend the next ten years at home raising my three children: Henry (18), Nolan (15), and Cecilia (15). Throughout this time of child-rearing, I kept current in the field of Early Childhood by teaching part-time as an adjunct instructor at Moraine Valley Community College. The 2018-2019 is my 8th year at Ridge Early Childhood.
My goal for my students is to become: responsible, respectful, and self-motivated learners while building their self-confidence, communication skills, and creativity. I will provide a learning environment where students are engaged in learning, and I will make every effort to meet the needs of ALL my students through differentiation. I will strive to make our classroom a place where students feel safe and supported by their teachers and peers. I’m looking forward to a very successful year!
